The Zinc - Iron Alloy Layers

This zinc carbonate layer acts as a barrier that slows down the further corrosion of the zinc and, more importantly, protects the underlying iron of the angle iron.

The zinc - iron alloy layers provide a strong bond between the zinc coating and the base iron.
